Below is my step by step process to get healthy, glowing skin!
Step 1: Cleanse
I use these two different facial cleansers, depending on how my skin is reacting. The Dime Gentle Jelly Cleanser is for all skin types. It’s an over all cleanser, whereas the La Roche-Posay cleanser is for normal to oily skin. These facial cleansers really help get dirt, oils, and makeup out of your pores for a full cleanse.
Step 2: Tone
Step 2 is toning the skin. This Dime Super Skin Toner is a game-changer in my skincare routine. Toner balances your facial PH balance, increases your energy production in cells, and absorbs impurities.
Step 3: Protect & Prevent
Step 3 is this amazing glow serum. Serums have become a staple in my skincare routine. If you have never tried serums because you are scared they may make you more oily, it does not. The antioxidants in this serum gives your skin an extra boost of glow while keeping your skin naturally hydrated, rather than oily.
Step 4: Hydration
Step 4 is Hyaluronic Acid. You may have heard of hyaluronic acid before, because it seems everyone is hopping on this trend now! The reason why it is popular is because it really is worth the hype. If you have normal to dry skin, hyaluronic acid might become your best friend. This gives your skin a healthy hydration all day long. I recommend wearing this even under makeup because it keeps the skin from getting dehydrated which leads to dullness, and dry skin… aka aging factors. My skin, normal-to-oily, has been loving it and I feel it is giving my skin a more youthful appearance!
Step 5: Eye Care
Step 5 is under eye cream. I recommend this product as being one of the most important items in this skincare routine. Under eye cream is an absolute MUST for people over 40, because unfortunately aging does happen for everyone, but this helps slow the process. The Colorscience under eye cream will make your under eyes bright, as well as smooth out fine lines & wrinkles. The best part, is that the Colorescience eye cream in s 3-in-1 ~ its your eye cream, concealer and SPF! I have yet find a better day eye cream. I wear the shade medium.
Step 6: Moisturize
Step 6 is moisturizer. This locks in all the products that you have layered on this far. All of these steps may look overwhelming, but having a strategic skincare routine does pay off in the end. I can say from personal experience!
Step 7: Protect
The last official step is sunscreen. This IS the most important step! If you are not using sunscreen, start immediately! Sun damage is one of the biggest causes of aging! You may not think so right now, however, over the years you will start to see a difference in the way your skin looks, feels, and appears. Sunscreen will soon become your best friend and keep your skin looking as youthful as possible!
Here are some extras that are anti-aging workhorses. These items are some of my personal favorites because they are more of a medical grade which shows greater results. The Colleen Rothschild Age Renewal Super Serum & the Obagi products are anti-aging super fighters!! If you are wanting the feel of getting youthful skin back, I recommend using these products on top of the regular skincare routine after your serums and prior to your moisturizer.
I have yet to find a better neck cream that the Perricone MD Neck Cream! It’s pricey, but worth every penny. I am still on the hunt for a more affordable option, but until then, this is it! It works immediately and makes your neck look more youthful. As you know, our neck our a dead giveaway of our age!
And, let’s not forget about Botox! I know some of you may against botox, but I am fan! I go in every three months to help smooth the fine lines and wrinkles and prevent more from forming!
Last but not least, here are some extras to that are like the icing on the cake. Babe Lash Enhancing Conditioner to give your lashes a boost & hydration back! And, if you are wanting to keep your summer glow all year long, use these self-tanning drops. Put a couple drops of this into your moisturizer for your whole body & keep that subtle healthy glow! I use this about once or twice a week.
